A Rosier You: 5 Fun Ways To Add a Dash of Pink to Your Bathroom

Pink, a playful hue, is not for everyone. But if you've been looking to try something a bit more adventurous in your bathroom color scheme, this unexpected shade might be just the thing.

While we don't recommend going all-out in bubblegum "Barbiecore" glam (unless, of course, that's your thing), there are still plenty of ways to "do pink" playfully, elegantly, or whatever else your design aesthetic requires.

We took to Instagram to source our favorite decor manifestations of this bright and bubbly color. Here are five ways this rosy hue can elevate a bathroom setting, and all the designer details you need to re-create the looks.

1. Flamingo pink wall art

Are you new to this whole pink interiors thing? Start small with some eye-catching art, like this fun flamingo print from @thelistbyhouseandgarden.

"Pink wall art adds personality to the bathroom," says interior designer and real estate agent Joy Aumann, of LuxurySoCalRealty. "Pink is versatile—it can be soft and relaxed or vibrant and bold. The art shown here coordinates beautifully with the overall pink color scheme while allowing for plenty of flexibility if styles change."

Get the look: Create a versatile pink look you can swap in or out on a dime with this exact flamingo print from Wayfair.

2. Striped pink bathmat

Another fun way to incorporate the glam of "La Vie En Rose" into your bathroom is with a bright bathmat like this one featured by @thiscolourfulnest.

"A candy-pink bath mat adds a pop of color and design flair to your bathroom," says designer Julie Taylor, of FLOOR360. "Mixing patterns is a popular trend, so a striped pink bath mat paired with a checkerboard wall or floor tile will add a whimsical spin to your overall look"

Get the look: Mix and match pink patterns with this Wavy Blocks bath mat in copper.

3. Earthy pink shower tiles

If you're ready to go all in on pink, then you can't go wrong decking out your shower in glossy pink tiles like this look from @home_at_brookes.

"These stunningly elegant, vertically stacked, pink subway tiles add an element of sophistication to this shower," says designer Tracy Metro. "Everybody looks beautiful surrounded by blush, so it seems to me that showering surrounded by pink tiles is an exercise in confidence."

Get the look: Boost your shower game by installing these Orchard Pink Merola tiles.

4. Powder pink vanity

There's a slightly softer take on pink that we love to see in glamorous bathrooms—a barely-there powder pink, especially when applied to a vanity like this design from @kallistadesign.

"I love the delicate pink vanity," says designer Chenise Hind, of Momooze. "A pale pink sink gives everything a sophisticated, feminine feel. Marble or metal accents would complement it nicely, and mixing materials like that creates more visual interest."

Get the look: Remake your vanity in Benjamin Moore's Powder Pink to give your favorite powder room an upscale feminine vibe.

5. Mauve wainscoting

Looking for a shade of pink that feels a bit moodier—and a tad retro cool—than all the rest? Check out this plum-pink wainscoting and bathroom door designed by @dustsheets_and_decor.

If you feel as dumbstruck as we do when it comes to why this dusty dark pink is working so well, it's a bit more complicated than you might expect. Luckily, Metro fills us in.

"Since the deep pink is only on the wainscotting and molding below, it allows the room to feel taller," says Metro. "The depth of color sinks the floor down and by comparison makes the upper wall feel airy and light. Those two elements are juxtaposed against each other to create an open feeling in a narrow space."

Get the look: Give your narrow bathroom a face-lift with a can or two of Mauve Madness.

If you've been keeping up with the news lately, you've probably come across some articles saying the number of foreclosures in today's housing market is going up. And that may leave you feeling a bit worried about what's ahead, especially if you owned a home during the housing crash in 2008.

The reality is, while increasing, the data shows a foreclosure crisis is not where the market...
